About Us

We are residents of the Village of Richfield who are concerned about the possibility of a clean fill dump site being opened.  We oppose any filling in of the site because of the real possibility of contaminating our drinking water.  Because of the unknown origin of fill being brought in, and the impossibility of testing every load, this has already happened in many sites near us.  The EPA has closed many of these sites due to contamination.  We are also concerned with the safety of our children who use our narrow and winding roads to walk and ride their bicycles every day. Hundreds of loaded and empty dump trucks making their way to and from the site will travel just a few feet from them as they pass, making a routine bike ride a roll of the dice.  The rural way of life is what we are trying to protect.  Your voice can make a difference!  Join us in keeping our Village nuisance free, the way scenic living should be.

What can I do?

Be proactive.

Your voice is important.  Your voice matters.  Call or write the Village of Richfield and tell them that you stand with the Village in opposing the dump.  Tell them how precious our only source of clean drinking water is.  Tell them you don't want to risk the contamination of this natural resource.  Call or write your State representatives and state your concerns.  A link to the legislature can be found below, or under the Contact Us tab at the top of the page.

Donate to R.R.A.D.
All donations, both large and small will help in the fight.  Please consider what will happen to your property value if you live close to a landfill.  Also consider what will happen to your taxes if we have to go to sewer and water because of groundwater contamination.  Please send your donation to:
